The Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, has thanked the organisers of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus Festival for a well-organised event. Speaking at the crowning ceremony on Saturday night at the Valelevu ground, Nasinu, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said hosting the festival at a new venue was no easy task. The A-G thanked the chairman of the Hibiscus Events Group Inc, Hirdesh Prasad, and his committee for hosting such a great Hibiscus Festival. He said everyone had enjoyed the festival, spent money and had a great time.

“It is not easy to organise all of this in particular when you have to do things very quickly as we are in the largest municipality in Fiji, Nasinu,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“It is a testimony to the fact that a large portion of the Fijian population lives in Nasinu.

“To host such an event is a wonderful achievement and I thank him and his committee.

“The event would not have been possible without the support and sponsorship from Vodafone Fiji Limited. Without the sponsorship, many events in Fiji cannot be held.”

Vodafone Fiji Limited chief operating officer Ronald Prasad said: “Vodafone is proud to be the pillar of support behind staging such a wonderful festival.

“I thank the Hibiscus Committee, the members and volunteers who have worked hard to ensure that we stage such a successful festival.”
