The people of Lutu in the Naitasiri province say they appreciate what Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and his FijiFirst Government has done to uplift their living standard with developments in the village.

Speaking to the Fiji Sun at Lutu yesterday, village headman Tevita Rasuqa said past Governments had carried out developments, but only partially.

Most villagers, he said were overwhelmed with what the Bainimaramaled Government had done in the province of Naitasiri.

At almost every village one can witness a rise in the living standard of communities and individual families making steady progress. Many villagers are now living in good houses and they are enjoying the good road that had made the transportation of their crops to markets much more convenient.

Mr Rasuqa said Lutu requested for a good and big evacuation centre because the village population was growing and the current hall now seemed small. As the village was expanding and the population growing, Mr Rasuqa said they would also need a new water source. For the women, they had asked for their sewing machines and they have been assured that they would receive what they had asked for.

Mr Rasuqa also asked for a new outboard motor and punt for the school. This was given a greenlight as well. The Prime Minister said the Minister for Education would look into the matter. Mr Rasuqa said they were lucky to have a caring Prime Minister because he listened to what they really wanted.

He said gone were the days when Lutu was a stronghold of the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA).

The people of Lutu, he said would rally support for Mr Bainimarama and his FijiFirst Government because they listened and heard what the grassroots people wanted.
