Tui Namosi hails Sanatan win
The Navua Sanatan football side celebrated their Sanatan World Cup victory in style yesterday.
The victory celebration started with a float procession along the Queen’s Highway to Rampur College where the players and officials received their awards.
The Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua was the chief guest during the celebration and highlighted how the love of sports has brought the society together.
“Success stories in football are abound in Navua as much as our failures but the spirit of sports continues to inspire and unite us,” Ratu Suliano who is also a former national football star striker said. “This historic win of the Sanatan World Cup by Navua Sanatan is a victory for our vanua.”
Navua Sanatan vice-president Sunil Chandra acknowledged the players for their effort.
“The players have really done a remarkable achievement through their hard work so I want to thank them for that.
“The message that we want to tell the people of Fiji is that if dedication and commitment is there then we will be able to do wonders. “The unity that the team had during the competition reflected on the results. “There was not enough time for preparation but the dedication of the players did wonders,” he added.
