Tui Namosi hails Sanatan win

The Navua Sanatan foot­ball side cel­e­brated their Sanatan World Cup vic­tory in style yes­ter­day.

The vic­tory cel­e­bra­tion started with a float pro­ces­sion along the Queen’s High­way to Ram­pur Col­lege where the play­ers and of­fi­cials re­ceived their awards.

The Tui Namosi Ratu Su­liano Matan­i­to­bua was the chief guest dur­ing the cel­e­bra­tion and high­lighted how the love of sports has brought the so­ci­ety to­gether.

“Suc­cess sto­ries in foot­ball are abound in Navua as much as our fail­ures but the spirit of sports con­tin­ues to in­spire and unite us,” Ratu Su­liano who is also a former na­tional foot­ball star striker said. “This his­toric win of the Sanatan World Cup by Navua Sanatan is a vic­tory for our vanua.”

Navua Sanatan vice-pres­i­dent Su­nil Chan­dra ac­knowl­edged the play­ers for their ef­fort.

“The play­ers have re­ally done a re­mark­able achieve­ment through their hard work so I want to thank them for that.

“The mes­sage that we want to tell the peo­ple of Fiji is that if ded­i­ca­tion and com­mit­ment is there then we will be able to do won­ders. “The unity that the team had dur­ing the com­pe­ti­tion re­flected on the re­sults. “There was not enough time for prepa­ra­tion but the ded­i­ca­tion of the play­ers did won­ders,” he added.
