Medical Students To Graduate In Georgia
They are on Georgian scholarships, which were secured by Ratu Inoke in 2012 when he was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
Six Fijian students will graduate from the Tbilisi State Medical University in Georgia in March, 2019. The final year students were among nine Fijian students, who met and had dinner with the Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola on Tuesday night in Tbilisi.
They are Katrina Shute, Rodnishwar Prasad, Nigel Etuate Christopher, Shyala Elishiya Chand, Mele Esther Pasikali and Adi Wainise Moceitai.
Three of the nine students are in their second year of studying medicine. They are on Georgian scholarships, which were secured by Ratu Inoke in 2012 when he was still the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
Ratu Inoke arrived in Georgia on September 23, with his delegation from the Ministry of Defence and Fiji Police Force for a ministerial bilateral visit.
According to a Government statement, the visit culminates with the signing of a security memorandum of understanding between Fiji and Georgia.
Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia is hosting the Fijian delegation from September 23 to 28.
The official programme started on Monday when Ratu Inoke and the Fijian delegation met with the host country’s Minister for Defence, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Speaker of Parliament and Head of Security Services.
They also visited other significant places around Georgia including the State Military Scientific technical centre.
The Fijian delegation will return on September 29.
