What do you do after waking up in the morning? What’s the base of your morning rituals? The things you do in the morning have a huge impact on the rest of your day. If you wake up in a bad mood, your whole day will be messy.

The same applies to weight gain. You may try really hard to get rid of those extra pounds, but nothing works. We give you some of the morning habits that make you gain weight. Learn how to turn your body in a powerful machine.

“Cutting back on calories is not the answer to successful weight loss and successful health, you have to increase the quality of what you eat, not just reduce the quantity.” – Joel Fuhrman.

1) You don’t drink water after waking up

Some people forget to drink water and others just don’t want to do that. But, drinking a glass of water can help you feel better and go through the day with ease. You can also do a reminder. Have a glass of water on your night stand, and drink it in the morning. Don’t drink water with your breakfast. Water flushes toxins out of the body and enhances digestion. Drink a glass of water right after you wake up, and you’ll be surprised of its power.

2) You don’t enjoy the sunshine

Sun is good for you, and it’s amazing after you wake up. Don’t sleep with your curtains closed. Sunlight boosts metabolism, and prepares your body for your breakfast. A little sun won’t do you harm, and it will give you the energy you need. Spend 20-30 minutes in the sun every morning, and get your digestive system working like crazy. No more extra pounds!

3) You drink your coffee with tons of stuff

Coffee is great for you, and we all need caffeine. Read carefully – we need COFFEE. Not all that cream and sugar and other things you add to your coffee. Science shows that coffee acts as an antioxidant and supports healthy digestion. Don’t add any sugar or milk to it.

This will block its effect, and you’ll drink lots of calories. A simple black coffee will do the trick for you. Green tea is even better. It’s a potent antioxidant-packed drink, and keeps you awake and full of energy.

4) You skip breakfast

You should never ever skip breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day, you know that. Skipping your breakfast is the last thing you need if you are trying to lose weight. Make sure your breakfast is composed of healthy ingredients and not cold cereal or processed meats.

It should be light and nutritious. A smoothie is also a perfect option. You get several different ingredients at once. A bowl of oatmeal will do the trick, too. Add yogurt and berries, and you can start the day guilt-free.

5) You skip morning stretches (exercise)

It may be a quick yoga or a light exercise. it may be hard for you to jump on your feet right after waking up, but your body needs that. Exercise is good for your overall health, and you don’t have to do anything hard. It decreases appetite, and boosts metabolism. Do a 15-minute yoga session or a nice jog. You’ll be surprised by its effect.

6) You read the news

Reading the news first thing in the morning is bad for your weight loss schedule. Your cells work super fast in the morning, and you don’t want to slow them down by reading. News often bring stress, and turn stem cells into fat cells.

Yes, you get fat by reading the news, too. Don’t try to get everything done in the morning. Just listen to some music or read a book if you really have to read something. This is a less stressful way of starting your day, and it will help you lose weight easily.

7) You sleep too much

Sleeping is good for your system, but all you need is just 7-8 hours. Oversleeping leads to weight gain, and you sleep instead of feeding your body. So, it ends up producing fat cells for sustenance. Oversleeping hurts metabolism, too. Eat several smaller meals, and you’ll lose weight like a joke.

Final words

Losing weight is easy, but you have to find the right way. Think positively, and implement healthy routines. May this be a pleasant journey for you and your body.
