There have been attempts to break into the FijiFirst party headquarters at Brown Street in Suva.

This was confirmed by Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Maretino Qiolevu to the Fiji Sun yesterday.

It is believed that when the attempts failed, graffiti was done on the building.

The graffiti included religious symbols. The swastika was also painted on the building.

This was discovered by party volunteers when they reached the headquarters early yesterday morning.

FijiFirst general secretary Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said this was another example of the thuggery and adherence to lawlessness displayed by the opponents of FijiFirst.

“This series of attacks from defacing our billboards, putting graffiti on our property and now trying to break into our property demonstrates the psyche of the opposition parties and their supporters,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said. “These people don't want to use reason, intellect and facts to forward ideas. “They want to use thuggery, fear, intimidation and of course lies.

“We of course will not be deterred. "We ask all Fijians and in particular all Fijian voters to also not be intimidated and succumb to lies and emphatically reject the opposition at the polls because we don't want this type of people in Government,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said. Meanwhile, ACP Qiolevu also confirmed that investigations on the vandalising of campaign billboards were continuing.
