Organisers Plan For Ba Carnival With A Difference
The stage is all set to mark the 10th Ba Farmers Carnival with a special celebration. Carnival chairperson Narendra Padarath said the objective was to make this year’s carnival different from those of the previous years.
“We have so much entertainment lined up for all patrons so that they will never forget,” Mr Padarath said. “The carnival has grown over the years as well.
“People of Ba are really supportive and will be looking forward to this carnival.”
Mr Padarath said that they would also dedicate a special night to mark the carnival’s 10th anniversary. which would be on October 19. Programmes director Rupeni Nauci said the carnoival’s theme is “Our Children—Our Future”. Mr Nauci said that the contestants would be advocating on the theme this year.
“It is important that we always look after our children because they are our future,” he said.
Mr Nauci said that entertainment would be provided by a variety of ethnic groups from the Western Division.
There are a total of six contestants vying for top honours in this year’s carnival:

The carnival starts today at the Ba Market ground and will conclude next week, Saturday.
