DIV DAMODAR RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT
Damodar Group of companies chief executive officer, Div Damodar will continue his term as president for the Fiji Papua New Guinea (PNG) Business council. A businessman by profession, Mr Damodar was elected during the council’s Annual General Meeting last night at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva.
“Being my second term for Fiji- Papua New Guinea Business council, I am honoured and grateful that our executive members and members of the Fiji- PNG have faith in me as president,” Mr Damodar said.
“We want to expand the opportunity for our businesses and other investment opportunities in PNG.”
Mr Damodar also commended the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama for his continuous support in facilitating the partnership with PNG.
Mr Damodar added the investment with PNG expanded the Fiji’s market through trade and fashion.
“We are grateful for our honourable Prime Minister, Mr Bainimarama who has gone out of his way to make this facilitation bigger,” he added.
“The best part is that much not only the top level businesses and the middle businesses want to have this opportunity too.
“This will allow our fashion designers and anyone who wants to have an opportunity, the Fiji-PNG Business Council is happy to facilitate.
“We are looking at focusing on trade and investment,that is our primary goal.”
He said they also wish to expand their membership.

The Council is Formed to promote trade, commerce and investment between Fiji and Papua New Guinea, Fiji – PNG council has the largest council members in the country. The council currently has over 40 members which have reduced over the years.
The objective of the council is to promote encourage and provide for joint consultation between members of the company on all matters of national and global interest.
