Manu Forges Ahead

Immanuel Manu failed to secure a FijiFirst ticket for the 2018 General Election, but that was no big deal for the Nadi veteran who has rallied support for the ruling party.

“I was interviewed by the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to be a candidate, but it was unfortunate that I missed selection, however that did not stop me from supporting the FijiFirst party,” Mr Manu said. “Why I support them is because I respect the Prime Minister of Fiji,” he said. “It’s unfortunate I did not make the cut to be one of the candidates. That is unfortunate, but it does not mean that I won’t support FijiFirst.

“From a new-born baby to a 90-year-old person, they all support FijiFirst policies.” Manu, 65, said all Fijians had got to respect the Government for what it had done for the country.

“The FijiFirst Government has done for all Fijians more than expected compared to what anybody else could do,” said the vehicle inspector for the Land Transport Authority (LTA). “What the Government done for us is much more than anybody could do, I respect each of the ministry’s in the government,” he said.

“They have done good things to a lot of people.

“That is the reason I urge all Fijians, young people or anybody, I can’t force them by taking their hand to tick for Mr Bainimarama, but I just make one request: Think of what FijiFirst has done for the people of Fiji. “Though I am not elected as a candidate, I put my heart out for the betterment of the country.”

Mr Manu added it was all about improving the livelihood of all Fijians.
