ANZ Celebrates 138 Years in Fiji
October is a very important month for ANZ Bank Fiji as its celebrates 138 years of service to the Fijian people and visitors to our shores.
ANZ was first established in Fiji in 1880 as the Union Bank of Australia, with its first branch at Levuka.
ANZ Fiji Country Head Saud Minam during the Feast of the Senses, Diwali celebration at Suva’s ANZ Stadium past Saturday said the bank has come along way in Fiji. “The bank has been here for the last 138 years, we would like to thank each and everyone of you from the bottoms of our hearts. Thank you for banking with ANZ Bank.
“The last 138 years has been a great journey and I can confidently say with my boss standing on my right hand side, I can take the liberty to say that we may have another 138 years here in Fiji.”
He said ANZ Fiji would continue to drive its digital transformation agenda for the benefit of their customers.
He also noted that they would continue to promote a cashless economy and provide better, more affordable access to digital services
“This year alone we will be upgrading three branches and by the middle of next year we will upgrade three other branches.
“The bank has taken an initiative to invest close to $8 million to renovating these branches.”
ANZ Bank’s Regional Executive, Pacific Island, Tessa Price said: “As an organisation we want to look for businesses, entrepreneurs and community initiatives to help Fiji grow.
“I would like to thank you for all your support and also for coming out tonight.”
