Mothers help each other for children
We help each other out because when one mother is assisting another it turns out that this affects every area of our day to day lives.
This includes family, health, education and work.
All have some element of help that is necessary to the efficient function of these systems. These were the sentiments raised by two Labasa mothers Mineshni Permal, 32, and Ashna Devi, 25, after their daughters graduated with a certificate of completion each at Gurunanak Khalsa Kindergarten last week Friday. The two live at Batinikama, Labasa, and always take turns in guiding their daughters to school. “Now I feel complete and it wouldn’t have been possible without her (Ashna Devi),” Mrs Permal said.
The thoughtful neighbours also said that it was tough, especially during the first few months of the school year because their daughters had to adjust to a new environment. “I shared reading materials with her for her daughter and she shared her’s with mine,” Mrs Devi said.
She said that both of them also assisted each other’s daughter at times when the two faced difficulties in mastering a certain concept or a skill.
“I feel happy because we could relate to each other. We are both mothers after all,” Ms Devi said. Mrs Permal said that pre-school education was an important part of each child’s development, therefore proper nurturing would be fundamental in the growth and progress of a child. “Helping each other is important because it sometimes can get difficult for a person to do things alone,” she said.
Their daughters, Nivriti Permal and Ananya Nand, were also excited after the graduation.
