Wilita Aims For Political Career
‘My parents have always supported me through thick and thin.’
Davuilevu Methodist Secondary School’s Year 11 dux award winner Wilita Bosenakadavu is aiming for a career in politics.
After grabbing the school’s prestigious award, the 16-year-old spoke about how much she admired politicians in terms on their intelligence and professionalism. “I hope am able to accomplish my dreams in future through my hard work and dedication,” she said. “I developed an interest in becoming a politician because I am doing History and we mostly study about politicians, so over time I have developed an interest in it.”
Speaking about being named Year 11 dux, she said: “I always used to study, but I never thought I would walk away with this award because there was a lot of competition this year,” she said.
“Firstly I would like to dedicate my success to God and my parents. My parents have always supported me through thick and thin.”
She also thanked the teachers and spoke about the challenges of balance school work with her responsibilities as the school’s headgirl.
“I managed to balance my work through my passion to study. “Peer pressure used to affect me sometimes, but I knew how to go about it.”
Wilita credited her mother, Losalini Bosenakadavu, as her inspiration.
Ms Bosenakadavu said that she is very proud of her daughter. “I have given her space to do things her way and the way she finds comfortable to study and revise,” she said.
“I always encourage her to go church because God is the reason for all our success.
