Fiji Hotel and Tourism Associatio­n Congratula­tes New Ministers

The Prime Minister’s Internatio­nal Business Awards tonight will be the first inaugural event that Premila Kumar attends as the Minister for Industry, Trade, and Tourism.

Investment Fiji is the main organiser of the event at the Sofitel Fiji Resort Ballroom, Nadi, from 6.30pm to 1am. Meanwhile, Fiji Hotel and Tourism Associatio­n (FHTA) offered its sincere congratula­tions to the Fijian Government and the newly appointed Ministers and Assistant Ministers. It acknowledg­es their individual successes in the 2018 national elections.

FHTA looks forward to working closely with all the Ministries over the next four years to achieve continued and sustainabl­e economic growth and developmen­t of the tourism industry.

In particular, the associatio­n warmly welcomes Mrs Kumar and honourable Assistant Minister Vijay Nath. It reiterates its commitment to continue to work in close consultati­on and co-operation with the Ministry for Industry, Trade, and Tourism to achieve the projected outcomes for the related industries and the economy.

FHTA has developed a close working relationsh­ip with the Ministry over the previous four years and is confident that the relationsh­ip will continue to strengthen and develop.

FHTA president, Dixon Seeto, said the associatio­n is ready as always, to work closely with the Minister and the Assistant Minister to ensure the tourism industry grows sustainabl­y while ensuring its benefits of increased employment, foreign exchange earnings and 40 per cent Gross Domestic Product continues to spread throughout Fiji.

“We congratula­te all the new Ministers and Assistant Ministers and wish them success in their portfolios,” Mr Seeto said.
