The Fashion Council of Fiji’s highly anticipated National Designer Awards at the Grand Pacific Hotel has been moved to next year on February 2.

The change was a result of an unfortunate and regrettably unavoidable conflict of dates.

With the preparations now at full pace, the Council is beyond thrilled to host Fiji’s first ever industry owned fashion awards. The inaugural National Designer Awards will encompass 4 categories, including Designer of the Year, Future Designer of the Year, Fashion Media of the Year and People’s Choice Award.

Stemming from the successful launch of the national fashion trade and consumer platform — the Bottega Gold Fijian Fashion Festival earlier this year, the Fashion Council of Fiji has dedicated the night to honor those who have contributed to the growing economic fashion output of Fiji. The awards night will recognise and celebrate the designers and fashion media professionals who have turned their craft into a business as well as industry players who are working towards moving the fashion industry forward.

This will include designers who show across all fashion events, and also those who chose to show their collections independently.

Over the last two weeks, the public has submitted nominations for their favourite designers, fashion media and influencers. You can vote for your favorite Designer of the Year finalist, simply by sending a direct message to the Fiji Fashion Council Facebook page (https://web.facebook.com/ FCfiJI/). You can be at the award ceremony to see which of these designers and media professionals take home the prize. Tickets are available now from House of Design boutique, located at shop 2 QBE Centre in Suva. You can also email bula@

FASHIONCOUNCILfiJI.COM for more information or to book a ticket.

The event will be more than just an awards ceremony- the night is also the launch of the Fijian Fashion Festival 2019.

In addition to seeing who wins live, ticket holders will also be the first to find out what’s in store for the festival.
