Award-winning Rosie Holidays is undergoing rebranding to Rosie Travel Group.

This was confirmed in an interview with Rosie Travel Group managing director Tony Whitton yesterday.

Rosie Travel Group won the HFC Best Large Business Operating Internationally award during the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards ceremony on Saturday.

Mr Whitton said: “We did the re branding, so that’s slowly being rolled out in the next few months in terms of delivery, new logo and things we’ll be doing to refresh the brand.”

He said this was also done to keep up with the international visitor expectations in terms of professionalism and having good delivery.

“We are honoured to be able to receive this award on behalf of our colleagues in the tourism industry. “Both Rosie Holidays and Fiji Airways are very critical partners in the tourism economy but we realise we are placed in a very competitive market.

“So to actually have international visitors come into Fiji takes a lot of planning and marketing.”

About Rosie Holidays

In 1974, a small tour company established in Nadi by Roy and Rose Whitton devoted to helping international visitors find happiness and inspiration.

For over 40 years, this Fijian family business has been building partnership with customers from 48 different nations to enjoy their award winning services and products.

Today the Rosie Travel Group is the most awarded and recognised travel brand in the South Pacific employing over 600 people and operating a diverse portfolio of tourism investments, including transportation, inbound tourism, retail level, overseas wholesaling and hotel resort ownership and development.

The Rosie Travel group is a major player in the tourism industry and a deserving award recipient as the company’s contribution to foreign exchange earnings, local employment and industry innovation is commended.

Minister welcomed

Meanwhile, the awards night was also the first time for the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Premila Kumar to officiate as a Government minister. Permanent Secretary for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Shaheen Ali welcomed Mrs Kumar at the awards and said: “We all know that you are more than ready to take on the challenge”.

Mr Ali said: “To those businesses who participated in this year’s Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, thank you for sharing your stories/experiences. “We look forward to your continued participation in this premier annual event and hope that you do even better in years to come.

“Congratulations to the all winners. What you have achieved tonight does not come easily. To build a successful business one needs a viable idea or a vision and the commitment and drive to execute this idea into a profitable venture. “Tonight we have witnessed and celebrated the fruits of your hard work and dedication to make your business a success – so congratulations once again.”

The awards night was organised by Investment Fiji.
