It’s another year and another success for graduate Dr Alveena Prasad.

The 27-year-old has made her parents proud again when she received her Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Medicine yesterday during the Fiji National University’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science graduation at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva. On top of that, Dr Prasad was also presented the Professor R Moulds Gold Medal for 2018 outstanding P.G Internal Medicine Candidate.

“I am happy to be graduating for the second time and I dedicate my success to my parents, friends and teachers who have supported me throughout,” she said.

Last year she graduated with an MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery – the two first professional degrees in medicine and surgery awarded to medical students.

She said studying and working proved a challenge, but she was pleased she overcame the daily obstacles and distractions.

The doctor was also on scholarship for the past six years adding that she would not have made it, if it weren’t for the scholarship assistance.

She intends to pursue further studies in medicine and keep striving for success.
