43rd Marist 7s in March
ASuper 6 comp for the Under20s will be included in the 43rd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s on March 22-23 next year.
This was revealed during the official launch at the Paradise Beverages Fiji Limited headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva yesterday. Paradise Beverages General Manager Mike Spencer was delighted to be associated with the tournament once again.
“It is a very important tournament for Paradise Beverages, 43 years is a long time.
“And I believe most of the Fijian 7s reps are produced from this Marist 7s tournament and it has been an overwhelming experience for us to be associated with it.
“With the inclusion of the Super 6 competition, for us as major partner and sponsors of this tournament we are once again excited to be part of this.” Marist Rugby Club president Lawrence Tikaram is grateful to Paradise Beverages for their continuous support over the years.
“First and foremost 43 years is a long time and with sponsorship such as this is, it is only possible with great partnership,” Tikaram said.
“And we are proud to be associated with Fiji’s biggest brand Fiji Bitter and it’s a clear testimony of the strategies that we share.
“And this year being the 43rd year of the tournament has grown from strength to strength. We are grateful to Paradise Beverages for their financial support over the years in hosting this tournament.
“And the reason why we are hosting this tournament early is because we want the teams to have enough time to prepare and register themselves way before the tournament.”
Pacific Beverages Head of Sales & Corporate Affairs Joseph Rodan Snr said; “We are very happy to be associated with the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s and marking 43 years is a long time,” Rodan said.
“When we look at the Marist 7s it is the pinnacle of sevens rugby in Fiji. It’s through the Marist 7s that we became the world and Olympic champion.”
