Kwadjo set for Naliva

After two years, boxing fans in Fiji will finally get to witness two renowned boxers Joseph Kwadjo and Savenaca Naliva to battle out in the light weight title event at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on February 9 next year.

The two had signed the deal to fight in the lightweigh­t title division.

The 2019 title fights is organised by South Pacific promotion which will feature 10 matches and is also sanctioned by the Boxing Commission Fiji.

Speaking at the press conference yesterday, South Pacific Promotion promoter Mukesh Freddy Chand was grateful to Boxing Commission Fiji for their support in hosting this event.

“We are really grateful to Boxing Commission Fiji for sanctionin­g our programme. And also appreciati­ve towards Joseph Kwadjo and Savenaca Naliva for accepting the fight and signing the agreement today so all is now set for February 9,” Freddy said. “I am excited to have finally signed up for the fight against Savenaca Naliva,” Kwadjo said. “The reason why I accepted his challenge was because I had watched his previous fights and or are current Fiji reps.

Meanwhile, Savenaca Naliva accepted the challenge from Kwadjo.

“First of all I would like to thank the promoters for giving me the opportunit­y to fight at this event,” Kwadjo said.

“It has been two years now since iam trying to challenge Kwadjo and this great opportunit­y for me to prove myself.

We thank South Pacific Boxing Promotion for putting this programme together and the two title fights are sanctioned by Boxing Fiji Commission. The first lightweigh­t title is between Joseph Kwadjo and Savenaca Naliva.

The welterweig­ht title will be between Ronald Naidu and Ratu Rakoura Daunivaval­a. And they are also other under cards match on that day.
