Passengers travelling on Fiji Airways will next year experience new products that the airline will be putting out. Shaenaz Voss, Executive General Manager, Fiji Link and Group Corporate, International and Government Affairs. said the new products and changes would begin from the ground before the flight departure.

Speaking at the one year birthday celebrations for the airlines Premier Lounge at Nadi International Airport on Wednesday night, Ms Voss said there will be big changes in 2019.

“We are going to introduce something special from 2019. She said they wanted to do is create a time before guests depart (before guests get on onboard, depending on thetime schedule of the flights in that particular day and particularly the evening flights) they want their premier guests and business and Tabua class passengers to have a nice meal in the lounge.

“We have an array of menu in the lounge and when you get onboard, we leave you that time to get some work done or just relax and go to sleep.”

She said the lounge also offers these passengers time to relax and watch movies or sports programmes on the large screen which screens both programmes simultaneously.

“Airlines around the world are trying different concepts to better their food onboard and for us having the lounge allows us to do something different and create the time on the ground.”

Ms Voss said the work they started two and a half years, with a year and a half to design was now bringing in great reviews from those who had passed through the lounge. “It has continued to get us great reviews and they are happy with the service we provided here.”

The lounge is now five star rated and already 4000 guests have already passed through the lounge.

“We are working very hard to maintain the standard of the lounge dining is great while the food is very local.” Meanwhile, Ms Voss said the airline was also working on a few other projects including the 10 acre land they had acquired across from their head office on Naisoso Road, Nadi.

“As we grow, and we have a lot more aircraft now, we are running a bit tight on space especially for our engineering area and the airport team.

“We are looking to build facilities to move some the current offices, which are those that are not required to be in the airport complex.

“Again it is only preliminary and we don’t have any fixed plans or timelines but that is something we are going to do in the future.”

The land will presently be used as a carpark.
