Raynav gives advice to students of SEEP
Your hardest times will lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep the faith, it will surely be worth it.
This was the advice of Bhawani Dayal Arya College Year 11 student Raynav Chand, during the closing of the School Employment Exposure Programme (SEEP) at the Yat Sen Secondary School Hall, yesterday.
“With all our friends allocated to different companies, the first challenge was getting to know the workers and the style of work,” Raynav said.
“You cannot disregard the fact that when we work in the field, we need time to adjust to the system, but this cannot and should not be an excuse.
“I was working as an attachee at Value City Limited headquarters in Valelevu where I was allocated into Accounts Payable section,” said the Accounting, Economics and History student. “Everyday, we had to be punctual and prompt with work starting at 8am and finishing 5pm. “Undoubtedly staying fresh in the work until 5pm was quite hectic sometimes, because normally we finish school at 4pm.
“It was also a first time experience to go to work on a Saturday, but on a positive note, working long hours and on a Saturday made us prepare for whatever endeavours we had to take in our lives.”
Raynav gave credit to his fellow staff members at Value City for providing an eye-opening experience for him. “The best moment was receiving my first income of my career made me realise how hard our parents worked in order to provide the best for us. I think we all should be grateful to our parents and guardians.” at
