8 Arrests Over the Weekend Linked to Drugs: Police
‘All suspects are in Police custody and the drugs have been taken for analysis as police investigation continues’
Eight arrests have been made over the weekend in drug-related cases, says Chief Intelligence and Investigation ACP Vakacegu Toduadua.
Last Saturday, Police arrested a suspect in Brown Lane Nausori with possession of seven sachets of dried leaves wrapped in brown cover paper believed to be marijuana.
In another case, Police conducted a house search at two properties in the Western Division.
ACP Toduadua said officers found four sachets wrapped in aluminium foil and some loose dried leaves believed to be marijuana at the house in Tomuka, Lautoka.
He said officers found one plant believed to be marijuana at Wainivula Settlement in Barotu, Ra.
“Arrests were also made in Martintar, Nadi, Shirley Park Lautoka and Ba Town,” said ACP Toduadua.
“In Martintar, Nadi, the officers arrested a suspect with 18 bullets wrapped in aluminium foil in a clear zip bag believed to be marijuana.
“The Shirley Park suspect was arrested and found with a clear plastic containing 17 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.”
Meanwhile, two arrests were also made in the Southern Division after Police searched a suspected vehicle at Khalsa Road. “The suspects were found with seven clear zip lock plastics containing clear crystal believed to be methamphetamine,” said ACP Toduadua.
“All suspects are in Police custody and the drugs have been taken for analysis as police investigation continues.”
