$5K For Futsal Winner

Arecord prize-money of $5000 will be awarded to the winner of Klean & Brite Cleaning Services Futsal Championship scheduled for April 26-29.

Due to the renovation works at Vodafone Arena, the event will be held at National Hockey Centre in Suva.

Tournament coordinator, Nadeem Mohammed revealed the winner not only get $5000 but a trophy, 15 medals while the runner up receives $1500, a trophy and 15 medals too.

The third placed getter will be rewarded with $500, a shield while the fourth placed team receives $250 and a shield.

All trophies and medals are sponsored by Bashir Patel of Hai’s Autoport (Canada) Ltd.

The Klean & Brite Cleaning Services Championship will have a total of 16 teams, grouped into four pools of four teams each. The top two teams from each group qualifies for the quarterfinal while the third and fourth placed teams from the four pools play in the trophy and shield semifinals respectively. The duration per match will be 40 minutes, divided into each half of 20 minutes.

“While planning for the event, we had to look at factors like work commitments for fans and players alike. After consultations, we’ve decided to have group matches scheduled for April 26 from 6pm and same for April 27. The last round of group matches will conclude on the morning of April 28 while the quarterfinals will be held in the evening. The semifinals and finals will be played on April 29 from 9am with the final scheduled for 4pm,” Mohammed said.

“Teams have already started showing overwhelming response and we will only accept the first 16 teams which pay their registration fee of $500 per team.”-edited by Osea Bola
