Red Pepper Restaurant Boast Punjabi Cuisines
The Red Pepper Restaurant and Bar have opened its door at the Jet Point complex in Nadi.

The restaraunt will be an addition to one of the busiest place in Nadi. Owner and Chef Gurpreet Singh said, “The Red Pepper is my concept of cuisines from India mainly from Punjab.
“I have always wanted to spend more time in Fiji so I am very excited to come here to work eight year ago and finally venture into my very own business.
“We have a big emphasis on authentic cuisine from India mainly from Punjab, Intercontinental and even from Nepal where our chef is from.”
Mr Singh said they used local produce from their suppliers to create the fun-filled dishes that were also tasty.
“I have invested over $250,000 which includes the importation of furniture’s and fitting from my home town in India. I have always wanted to be in the islands and for me this is a great experience to hang out in a new culture. Fiji is a beautiful place.”
About the owner:
Mr Singh is origininally from Patiala District in the State of Punjab, India and has been in the food industry for over 15 years of his life and worked in a restaurant in Fiji over the last eight years. “We have had guests who come for our trials and they seemed to enjoy a lot. The feedback was overwhelming.” The restaurant currently has five employees as cooks, kitchen hands, “The local community come in as well as tourists as we do not only want tourists; we want everybody to come in.”
Mr Singh certainly does not mind opening another restaurant somewhere with a slightly different concept.
“Right now this is what I am concentrating on but I do know there will be something else later.,” Mr Singh added.
“This is something very important to me as I have now a whole bunch of new friends,” he concluded.
The restaurant opened its door for business on December 21.
