The list of finalists for the 2018 ANZ Fiji Excellence Tourism Awards is being finalised and will soon be announced.

The event is scheduled on February 16 at the Sofitel Resort and Spa on Denarau Island, Nadi. ANZ FETA Trustee and organising committee chairperson Olivia Mavoa said the judges are in the last stages of finalising the list. Ms Mavoa said they had received a good list of applicants and the announcement of the winners will be something to look forward to. With the theme, “Tourism benefitting all Fijians”, Ms Mavoa said the award night would promote excellence by bringing together industry members to recognise and celebrate achievements within the tourism sector.

“We would like to focus on is the theme of the award “Tourism Benefiting all Fijians”,” Ms Mavoa said.

“In terms of the applications, we have a very good selection of applicants that have come through this year.

“We have got our judges who are finalising the judging soon and then we will come to the finalists and we are getting a good response from the industry.”

With the change of venue to the Sofitel Resort and Spa on Denarau, Nadi, Ms Mavoa said they are hoping for something different this year.

“Every year we want to improve from the year before so in terms of the award night, it is important for people to get their tickets early,” she said.

“I cannot say too much about it but you will not be disappointed and every year we aim to raise the bar.”
