FIJI FOOTBALL SOLVES TRANSFER DISPUTES
Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) dispute committee has decided the fate of eight players during their hearing yesterday.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed there were over hundred applications in the club-to-club and district transfer during the January transfer window.
“Lot of cases were resolved except for these eight cases that came to the disputes,” said Yusuf.
Yusuf confirmed bothers Epeli Saukuru and Iosefo Verevou have been cleared to feature for Suva while Tevita Warainivalu and Bruce Hughes have been cleared to Rewa.
“Rewa have released Saukuru and Verevou in exchange with Warainivalu and Bruce Hughes, who have been released to Rewa after they deposited $8000 for which $3500 will be paid to Suva and $4500 will be refunded to Rewa.”
He confirmed former Nadi and Rewa defender Vuniuci Tikomaimereke’s transfer to Labasa was yet to be decided. “Tikomaimereke will have to face the Rewa disciplinary committee for his behaviour during Pacific Cup last year and after that process is over, then Fiji FA will decide on his transfer.
“If he gets suspended from Rewa than he will remain suspended,” said Yusuf. The CEO confirmed Vilitati Kautoga has been released to play for Suva from Labasa. “Kautoga has been released because he applied in the beginning of the transfer window and the comet system allowed him to play and his application was valid, so Labasa have released him,” confirmed Yusuf. “The two Lami players who were interested in playing for Nasinu will stay back but Lami will have to pay back Nasinu some money after the players took some cash in advance,” said Yusuf. – Fiji FA Media
