Jack’s of Fiji marks another milestone in their company’s history with the opening of the newly refurbished shop at Pier Street, Suva yesterday. Jack’s Group of Companies chief executive officer, Bhavin Khatri said the new integrated and modernise Suva store was an investment of $5 million,” said Mr Khatri. “The new store establishment is an integrated store which has completely transformed the old store adding one more store level to the existing two store levels providing our customers with a lot of space to move around, enjoy & relax at the café. “The entire upgrade and extension of Suva store was done in-house by our Manufacturing arm Jacks Manufacturing Limited where we ensured we maintained the colonial look of the building from the outset.

He said the store building is a cultural heritage site declared by the Fiji Heritage Council as a monumental building because of its architecture which is of outstanding universal value from the point of view of history.

The three levels store he said covers a space of 3,000 total square meters with retail area of over 2,600 square meters. “With the store expansion, it has also demanded increases in our human resources capabilities to align with the expansion. “The new store investment has created an additional 20 jobs from the previous 45 staff requirements. The total staff for the new store now stands at 65.

“What makes today even more special is the launch of our new uniform right across all the retail stores, hand designed in house and manufactured by our sister company Jacks Garment Pty ltd.

“Since we have started our journey in 1969, the opening of this store will be the 50th one and 3 in PNG added to the milestones the company has achieved. “This is also a commemoration of the grand 50th anniversary the company will be celebrating.

There are also plans to include exciting new brands to the new store later in the year.”

The store will open 7 days a week giving customers the time to enjoy shopping at their leisure.

Lazy Beans Café an Added Value to the Shopping Experience:

Mr Khatri said: “Adding value to the shopping experience, we are excited to introduce our new Coffee Shop - the ‘Lazy Beans’ Café inside the store.

“The café is a new addition to the store, a commitment we have made after receiving feedback from our customers.

“It is located at the first floor and will now be able to cater both our local and tourist customers.”

CEO Jack’s Restaurant, Eugene Gomes said: “the opening of Lazy Beans Café within Jack’s store provides a complete shopping experience to our valued customers. “Customers are able to grab a bite or sit with friends and families after a tiring shopping tour and enjoy the best of Lazy Bean.

“We are providing shopping and sipping experience under one roof.”

The café will be operating 7 days a week coinciding with the Jack’s Store opening time.

The entire upgrade and extension of Suva store was done in-house by our Manufacturing arm Jacks Manufacturing Limited where we ensured we maintained the colonial look of the building from the outset.
