Student Leader Sets Career Plans

REIFA IS READY TO LEAD THE SCHOOL’S STUDENT BODY, HE KNOWS THE RESPONSIBI­LITY WILL NOT BE EASY

Newly-inducted head boy of Suva’s Marist Brothers High School Reifa Buinimasi aims to be a pilot and pursue a rugby career when he leaves school.

For the time being, he is ready to lead the school’s student body and he knows the responsibi­lity will not be easy to carry out.

“I think that without challenges, life would not be interestin­g,” Reifa said after the prefects’ induction at the school yesterday.

He said the struggles he faced being the leader is, trying to balance school work with rugby and athletics training. “I always keep my school work up to date as I make sure I study every night,” the 17-yearold said.

Reifa encouraged all youth to take part in school activities and put God first. He dedicated his appointmen­t to God, his parents and grandparen­ts. “My 81-year-old grandmothe­r Nanise Buinimasi is here at the induction and she played a major role in raising me. I am very thankful for that,” he said

Reifa is the second youngest of four children and is originally from Kabara, Lau. He has maternal links to Cakaudrove. His family lives in Nadi and he is a boarder at the school. Edited by Epineri Vula
