NTPC host national productivity master plan consultation
The Fiji National University’s (FNU) National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC), will commence work with the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) to develop Fiji’s National Productivity Master Plan this week. NTPC, as the National Productivity Organisation for Fiji, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and APO, is working towards developing a National Productivity Master Plan that can be adopted to revise its official national productivity framework which is the productivity charter for Fiji. Fiji has been part of the APO since 1984.
NTPC Director Isimeli Tagicakiverata said once developed, the Master Plan can be adopted to revise Fiji’s official national productivity framework.
He said a three member team will be in the country today (Monday, 18 February) to carry out the first round of consultations at the NTPC headquarters in Narere.
The project team comprises of Woon Kin Chung from Singapore, his assistant, Ya Lee and APO Program Officer Arsyoni Buana from Japan.
Mr Tagicakiverata said the policy consultancy project will be carried out by APO through several stages of activities and the stakeholder consultations will be from yesterday until Friday, March 1 in Fiji.
The consultation will be carried out in three parts:
Step 1. Identification of key issues.
■ Step 2. Consolidation and synthesising.
■ Step 3. Development of the
productivity Master Plan. Mr Tagicakiverata said once the development of the Master Plan was completed it will be presented to the NPO and stakeholders, who, after agreement, could adopt it as the official national productivity plan or use it as the first draft for the development of a national productivity charter.
