Annual Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia-Fiji Branch Congress will expect more than 500 delegates this year.

The 10th year congress will feature professional international speakers and successful entrepreneurs.

The two-day congress will take place from September 19 and 20, at the Shangri La’s Fijian Resort and Spa, Yanuca Island. CPA Fiji Branch President Nouzab Fareed during a press conference yesterday said there would be another outstanding lineup of speakers at this Congress. Technology is completely transforming how we think, feel and work. He said this year’s congress will include a focus on this.

He said this year’s congress is totally different and a lot of people are looking forward to it.

“All speakers are great speaker in their own subject, and it will also include one politician from Australia.

“The speakers will highlight different topics varying from Commercial Laws, Economics, and Taxation, Finance to name a few.

“You will see some speakers speaking about artificial intelligence, some will speak about what the world will hold for you in the future, and it’s totally different.” “Out of the 10 speakers, nine are overseas speakers and they are all experts in their field.

“The Congress is a great opportunity to learn from experts in their field and interact with peers.”

Mr Fareed said that in the past 10 years businesses and individuals had thrived from their participation at the Congress.

Asco Motors- Gold sponsor

Meanwhile, Asco Motors has come on board as the premier sponsor of the event. Company chief executive officer Craig Sims said the company had stepped up support this year having seen the benefit of their sponsorship in previous years. Mr Sims said the amount they would be sponsoring has gone up from what they had sponsored last year.

Mr Fareed said: “We are glad that Asco is joining us as main sponsor.”

He said the last nine years it was Vodafone and Westpac who has been sponsoring the event.

So this year he said it’s going to be Vodafone and Asco Motors.

“We are proud to have Asco has our main sponsors, they were our co-sponsors in the last two years.

Mr Fareed said they had also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CPA Australia and Asco for being a main sponsor in this event.

“We have got plenty sponsors who want to sponsor CPA, but we are very careful to pick and choose,” Mr Fareed said.
