Her goal is to positively impact lives through her work, particularly to ensure that our citizens not only have access to digital services but are also protected in the digital space. Ms Baravilala said: “With regards to the work that we do specifically, when you are doing a nation-wide programme there is a lot of timelines and there is a lot of deadlines that needs to be met.

“So, I have a lot of late nights that I have to stay back and do a lot of these things.”

She said: “But the main things or the main focus is for you to understand and know the main purpose of why you are doing what you doing.

“That usually drives me through, and it’s all worth it in the end to be able to impact people’s lives, which is basically the vision or the purpose of my life through the work that I do.”

“I wasn’t expecting this award, and I give back the glory to the almighty without him, I will not be where I am today.” She is encouraging young women out there to step out and be nominated. “We need to encourage and empower each other women, and I think Women in Business is a good platform.”

She said: “This is the first time I have attended the Women in Business event and being nominated. So for me it’s a real eye opener and just being able to come in the room with empowering women.”

Ms Baravilala has advice young women out there is to know what your passion is, learn to be committed, your work ethic and just to ensure that you uphold your values and your principles.

“So for me integrity would be the main thing to work on.

“Other than that you will see a lot of doors open.”
