ANZ Bank head of retail business Renuka Kumar’s advise to every women is to believe in themselves and make right choices.
Mrs Kumar was awarded the Private Sector- Senior Manager of the Year Award during the Women in Business Awards (WIB) Night at Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel on Friday. She has been working for ANZ for 32 years.
Mrs Kumar said: “This is a proud moment for me, my family and my work colleagues and the ANZ Bank. “This award is something, I will show my colleagues and to inspire them to do more.
“I wasn’t expecting this, and I never thought I’m going to win it, but it’s just an overwhelming feeling.”
Work and family
The mother of two said: “Work and family is quite challenging, because you have to balance everything.
“When there is support from the family and colleagues you can achieve anything.
“You have to believe in yourself and have to be confident enough.” She added: “You will also need to know that nobody else is going to do the work for you, so you have to do it yourself.
“So that is what keeps me going. “I thank the almighty God for steering me in the right direction, and I know what ever choice I have made is right. That is why I have moved forward. “Whatever move I made, whatever decision I made in my career, I always have my family backing me up, that is my husband and my two boys.”
