Interest shown in the Purchase of Pullman Nadi Bay Resort
There has been a lot of local interest shown in the purchase of Pullman Nadi Bay Resort and Spa.
Owners Gokals Group Fiji are selling the 236-room property soon after its opening recently. It has also been confirmed that the company is also selling off their vacant seven and a half acre property adjacent to Pullman and there has been strong local interest in buying the property. My Island Home Real Estate Managing Director Susan Pritchard confirmed they have received some local interest in buying the resort.
“Yes we have received some local interest but I cannot divulge any
further information on its sale.
“The rest is all confidential information,” Mrs Pritchard said.
International buyers
Meanwhile Colliers International New Zealand Limited have been tasked with looking for an international buyer for the resort.
National Director Hotels for Colliers Dean Humphries, confirmed this from New Zealand yesterday. “I can confirm that Colliers International in conjunction with a local real estate practice have been engaged to seek international expressions of interest for the five star Pullman Nadi Bay Resort & Spa on behalf of the owners,” Mr Humphries said.
“The owners have decided to test the market given the buoyant conditions of the Fijian tourism sector together with strong international investor demand for premium hotels assets across the Asia Pacific region.
“Unfortunately due to confidentiality, we can’t disclose any further details at this current point in time,” Mr Humphries said. He was asked on the sale reserveprice but did not wish to disclose this.
Leading pre-eminent hotel operator and market leader in Europe, Accor Group were manning the resort.
Meanwhile Philip Toogood, Managing Director of Bayleys Real Estate (Fiji) Limited, confirmed the vacant property belonging to Gokals beside Pullman was also being sold.
Interest shown
While he would not divulge the price he said strong local interest has been shown along with a number of international interests. “They were supposed to have built a Raddison type resort but that will not happen now and the vacant land is being sold as is,” Mr Toogood said.
The Gokal Group of Companies also own and operate the Suva Peninsular Hotel.
