MIOT Pacific Hospitals Rebrands to Oceania Hospitals
MIOT Pacific Hospitals will be rebranded to Oceania Hospitals. Oceania Hospitals executive director Pramesh Sharma confirmed this in an email interview yesterday. Mr Sharma explained the changes taking place at what was once the Suva Private Hospital in Toorak, Suva owned by BSP Life.
Mr Sharma said: “Oceania Hospitals Pte Limited (OHPL) is a joint venture between MIOT Investments (Fiji) Pte Limited (30 per cent) and BSP Life Fiji Ltd (70 per cent).
“OHPL entered into a Management Agreement with MIOT Management
(Fiji) Pte Limited (MML), an entity with the same owners as MIOT Investments (Fiji) Pte Limited, to manage the hospital with provision clinical and administrative services. “The relationship between MIOT International and OHPL is through the manager (MML) who in turn has an agreement or Service Level Agreement (SLA) with MIOT International for the provision of personnel and services.
“There is no direct relationship between MIOT International and OHPL, apart from MIOT International guaranteeing the performance of MML under the Management Agreement. “OHPL, however trades as MIOT Pacific Hospitals (MPH) as was agreed between the joint venture partners and the specific consent of MIOT Investments Limited to use the name MIOT Pacific in the name MIOT Pacific Hospitals, hence the trading name for OHPL has been MIOT Pacific Hospital.”
MIOT International’s relationship with OHPL was through MIOT Investments Limited and MIOT Management Limited.
“OHPL does not have any direct relationship with MIOT International apart from MIOT International guaranteeing the performance of MML.
“As the withdrawal of the services and personnel was done by MML, OHPL, now being operated independent of MML; will commence the rebranding process to remove reference of MIOT Pacific Hospitals, which is owned and registered by OHPL, to avoid any confusion.
“OHPL will be re-branded to Oceania Hospitals Pte Limited t/a Oceania Hospitals.Recruitment of personnel is an on-going process and as there is a scarcity of skills in Fiji in certain clinical areas, OHPL has recruited from India in the general medicine, Cath Lab and CT Scan services.”
Managing Director of MIOT International Hospital Dr Prithvi Mohandas on Wednesday confirmed pulling out of Oceania Hospitals Pte Limited trading as MIOT Pacific Hospital.
“The vision of MIOT India is to create self sustaining quality through institutions of learning.
“This vision does not match the goals of our partner.
“We are therefore negotiating our shareholding exit in total - this is ongoing over the last few months.”
