Big Names For Bula Fun Run

Some very big names in the long distance running circles will be part of the 2019 Nadi Bula Fun Run on Saturday, August 3 from the Fiji Airports compound (formerly known as CAAF compound) in a bid to raise funds for this year’s Bula Festival charity drive while promoting a healthy lifestyle and active living at the same time.

Event organiser Alan Kumar of Bula Events Group said the company has once again joined hands with the Nadi Bula Festival Trust to organise the fun run similar to last year.

“We are expecting big names like Avikash Lal, Kennol Narayan, Yeshnil Karan, Sharmila Lata, Noeline Mallam and many others to be part of the five-kilometre race which is scheduled to start

at 8am on August 3, 2019,” Kumar said.

He said the chief guest for the event will be the Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services Alexander O’Connor and this year’s festival beauty pageant contestant­s are also going participat­e in the run.

the same time,” Kumar added.

“Other activities on the day will include free medical screening by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services team including free breakfast with the compliment­s of Sanitarium Weet-Bix.”

The five-kilometre race registrati­ons begin at 6.30am from the NASA Camp and race proper is scheduled to start at 8am. The fun run will be hosted in four different categories namely Masters 40+, Open, Secondary School and Primary School.

In each category there will be winners for males and females from the first to third positions respective­ly.

All winners will get medals and surprise prizes with compliment of SportsWorl­d. Also Home & Living $50 worth of hampers will be given to first-place winners in all categories. Youngest and oldest runners will also get a $50 worth hamper each with compliment­s of Home & Living while one lucky runner will win a day trip to Tivua Island for two adults with compliment­s of Captain Cook Cruises. Sponsors for the event are Unit Trust of Fiji, High Commission of India, ANZ Bank, Wyndham Resort Denarau Island, Aqua Pacific, SportsWorl­d, Home and Living, Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Sanitarium Weet-Bix and Captain Cook Cruises.
