The organisers of the 2019 Vodafone West Kids Rugby Festival received a major sponsorship boost of $60,000 from Vodafone Fiji in Nadi on Wednesday night. During the cheque hand-over at the Capricorn Hotel, Vodafone ICT sales executive Vincel Pickering said: “As a 100 percent locally-owned operation we strive to create positive ripple effects in the lives of ordinary Fijians, be it through our charitable events or sponsorships.

“This is what we are about, growing our people and our vanua. With the tremendous boost through our

sponsorship for the young brigades, Vodafone Fiji ensures that we extend our partnership with the sport further and deeper into the grassroots as sponsors.”

He added together with Fiji Rugby and other stakeholders, Vodafone wanted to build a solid foundation for young teams to step further into building the sport and their character.

“Discipline and teamwork also plays a part in developing these young ones into better individuals,” Pickering said.

Western Primary Schools Rugby Association president Joeli Bulu thanked Vodafone for the sponsorship.

Divisional Education officer (West) Joseva Gavidi said the Ministry of Education has always encouraged stakeholders in education to come on board to support our children.
