2019 crushing season update
The Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) is pleased to note that Lautoka and Labasa Mills, now into their tenth week of crushing, have continued to strengthen their crushing performances.
Labasa Mill in particular, is performing exceptionally well this season.
To date, 568,852 tonnes has been crushed by the three mills combined. Pleasingly, both Lautoka and Labasa Mills have crushed in excess of 5,000 tonnes over the last 24 hours and Rarawai is not far behind, having crushed 4,772 tonnes of cane.
Lautoka Mill
Lautoka Mill has to date produced 226,444 tonnes of cane. Their TCTS for the last 24 hours (tonnes cane per tonnes of sugar) was 9.3 with crushing being 14 per cent above its daily target.
Labasa Mill
Labasa Mill, also in its tenth week of crushing, has processed 246,060 tonnes of cane. The Mill’s TCTS continues to get better as the season progresses and is now comfortably at 9.5, achieved in the last 24 hours.
In addition, the cane crushed in the last 24 hours was 12 per cent above its daily target.
Rarawai Mill, currently in it’s sixth week of crushing, has revamped its performance, having crushed 4,772 tonnes of cane over the last 24 hours.
This is 23 per cent higher than its daily crush target.
To date, Rarawai Mill has crushed a total of 96,348 tonnes of cane.
Operationally, Rarawai mill’s refurbished boiler continues to stabilise.
It is also very encouraging to note that Rarawai’ s TCTS over the last 24 hours has been maintained at 9.8.
Sugar produced now stands at 53,813 tonnes. Of this volume, 20,830 tonnes has been contributed by Lautoka Mill. Labasa Mill has produced the highest sugar tonnage thus far amounting to 34,312 tonnes.
Rarawai Mill has produced 8,142 tonnes of sugar to date.
Furthermore, total factory stops in the last 24 hours for the three mills has been minimal, consequently influencing the smooth operations of the factories.
