POLICE SEIZE SUBSTANCES, QUESTION SUSPECTS

The following people, from different parts of Fiji, are in custody after Police allegedly seized illicit substances and plants from them. The substances have been sent for analysis.

■ A 27-year-old security officer of Visako Circle in Nadera is in custody after he was allegedly found with white substances believed to be methamphet­amine. The suspect was searched by an officer at a supermarke­t complex located along Khalsa Road after he was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

■ In Lautoka, two people were arrested following a raid at a house in Rifle Range. In custody are a 42-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man after they were found sachets and a plastic containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

■ In the Northern Division, officers from Tukavesi Police Station arrested a 32-yearold farmer following a raid at the Nabuloko Settlement, Cakaudrove. Seized were more than 160 plants believed to be marijuana.

■ In Savusavu, two arrests were made after the suspects were found with bullets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. A 35-year-old market vendor was arrested in Savusavu Town by an officer on patrol. Seized was a white plastic containing bullets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. At the Oneva Bus Stop in Savusavu, a team of officers while attending to a report stopped a bus and arrested a 23-year-old farmer of Nasinu Village. He was allegedly found in possession of a bag containing bullets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
