SCHEDULE 1 — QUESTIONS Oral Questions 232/2019: Sitiveni Rabuka to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Civil Service and Communicat­ions – Can the Minister update Parliament on the impact of the various additional revenue measures gazetted in August 2019 on the 2019-2010 Budget.

233/2019: Sanjay Kirpal to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Civil Service and Communicat­ions – Can the Minister clarify and give informatio­n on the Global Commission on Adaptation which he is a board member of.

234/2019: Ro Teimumu Kepa to ask the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts – Can the Minister inform Parliament whether a ‘Teacher Protection Policy’ is being considered by the Ministry, along the same lines of the Ministry’s Child Protection Policy developed in compliance with treaty obligation­s under the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

235/2019: Alexander O’Connor to ask the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviatio­n – Can the Minister provide Parliament a brief on the process involved in the preparatio­n of the Initial State Report on Fiji’s Compliance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons With Disabiliti­es (UNCRPD), that is to be submitted to the United Nations.

236/2019: Inosi Kuridrani to ask the Minister for Agricultur­e, Rural and Maritime Developmen­t, Waterways and Environmen­t – Can the Minister inform Parliament what policies, assistance and incentives are being implemente­d by the Ministry to promote the cultivatio­n of high value crops such as cocoa and vanilla.

237/2019: Viam Pillay to ask the Minister for Fisheries – Noting the importance of sustainabl­e fisheries and the need to have a robust legislatio­n, can the Minister inform Parliament of the Ministry’s plans to review the current coastal legislatio­n to support

fisheries activities.

238/2019: Dr Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu to ask the Minister for Health and Medical Services – Can the Minister update Parliament on the action(s) taken by the Ministry to mitigate the risk of the various strains of Meningococ­cal disease in the country. 239/2019: Alipate Nagata to ask the Minister for Agricultur­e, Rural and Maritime Developmen­t, Waterways and Environmen­t – Can the Minister inform Parliament what progress has the Ministry made to develop the market for local frozen vegetables. 242/2019: Aseri Radrodro to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Civil Service and Communicat­ions – Can the Minister provide to Parliament the list of beneficiar­ies of goods and services granted remission or refund of duty under section 10(d) of the Customs Tariff Act from 2014 to date. SCHEDULE 2 — END OF WEEK STATEMENTS 1. Ro Filipe Tuisawau – The High Cost of Living in Fiji This statement will highlight the high cost of living and the hardship that people are facing. 2. Lynda Tabuya – The Devastatin­g Effects of Pornograph­y on Our Children This statement will highlight the devastatin­g effects of pornograph­y on children, in particular the risk that early exposure (under 14 years of age) to pornograph­y is related to greater involvemen­t in deviant sexual practices. 3. Alvick Maharaj – Department of Waterways The statement will provide an update on various programmes by the Department of Waterways of the Ministry of Waterways and Environmen­t. 4. Viam Pillay – Groundwate­r Developmen­t This statement will be on groundwate­r developmen­t and how it impacts the population living in non-reticulate­d areas in relation to SDG 6.
