“It will boost their passion to achieve the dreams they have set for,” he said.
“Apart for going to play, we know that this is going to be an educational trip for them and inspire them to achieve a dream which they have set.
“It is quite a unique opportunity for the kids. They have fundraised and contributed to this trip, from their uniform, paying their registration fee and their return airfares.
“They were invited for the AIMs Games in Tauranga, New Zealand. “This is the first school team from Fiji to participate and it’s a blessing for the school.”
Finau said that the unique thing about the AIMS Games is that it is an Under- 13 grade for all sports and it a multi-sports event with more than 20 sports and more than 12,000 athletes.
He also said the planning and operations behind from coaching to fundraising and administration has been conducted by the parents which he greatly acknowledged them for.
“I would like to acknowledge all the parents that have made this dream a success and also our coach, Mr Naivalu. We’re grateful for the AIMS Games organisers for supporting the team. Most of these kids are travelling overseas for the first time,” he added.
The AIMS Games starts on September 9.
