Team Namako In Toughest Race

Triathlon Fiji reps Petero Manoa and Eroni Takape will boost Team Namako during the World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji next week.

Team Namako comprised locals and one Australian who are all current or former athletes and they are Alivate Logavatu, Petero Manoa, Eroni Takape, Kim Beckinsale, and Courtney Nicole Kruse.

The other Fijian team Tabu Soro includes Uri Kurop, Adam Wade, William Simpson, Anna Cowley and Semiti Tuitoga.

They will compete with over 60 teams from 30 countries.

The series is hosted and produced

by Bear Grylls (Man v Wild, Running Wild), executive producer Lisa Hennessy (Eco-Challenge, The Biggest Loser), Eric Van Wagenen (Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Apprentice), Emmy Award-winning producer Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice, Shark Tank).

The human drama, produced by MGM Television, will be captured in a 10-episode series to premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime Video in 2020. The launch of Eco Challenge Fiji 2019 will be held at Nabitu District School, Draubuta, Tailevu, 5pm on Monday.

This is the ultimate expedition race in which teams will race non-stop, 24 hours a day, across hundreds of miles of rugged backcountr­y terrain complete with mountains, jungles and oceans.

Each race team comprised four competitor­s, including at least one member of the opposite sex, and one assistant crew member that will be helping their team from base camp.

Each team will race under a single country flag while making their way through some of the most impenetrab­le terrain Fiji has to offer.
