WYNDHAM DONATES EQUIPMENT TO HOSPITAL
Wyndham Resort Denarau Island has continued its support of the local community with a donation of muchneeded equipment to the Nadi Hospital’s maternity unit.
The resort team raised funds to purchase almost $2500 worth of medical equipment, including stethoscopes, sphygmomanometers for measuring blood pressure, stadiometers for measuring height, dopplers to detect foetal heartbeat and intravenous infusion sets.
This follows a donation in July of electric kettles, a fridge and a microwave to the hospital’s maternity unit.
Assistant Resort Manager Wesley Biutanaseva said the Wyndham Denarau Island team was passionate about providing support to mothers and their babies. “Recently, we have had a number of our female employees take advantage of the maternity unit facilities during their pregnancies,” Mr Biutanaseva said. “We are proud to be able to support a service that not only benefits our team members, but also the greater community.”
The equipment was received by Subdivisional Medical Officer Dr Abdul Shah and Nadi Hospital Visitor’s Board Chairperson Mohammed Israr Khan, who said the medical equipment would ensure mothers and babies were well looked after.
The multi-award winning Wyndham Denarau Island is one of the largest and most popular resorts in Club Wyndham South Pacific, the region’s largest timeshare club with close to 60,000 members and 51 resorts across Asia Pacific and Europe.
It features a host of facilities including Mamacita Restaurant & Bar, The Beach Shack café and bar, mobile coffee cart, swim-up pool bars, an oversized lagoon-style swimming pool and adults-only pool. The resort also boasts a children’s pool, day spa, gym, beach club, games room and 24-hour reception.
The resort was recently named Fiji’s Best Deluxe Accommodation at the 2019 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards and the Resort of the Year at the Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council (ATHOC) Awards in Australia.
