CPA Members Recognised, New Members Awarded with Certification

Nineteen local accountants were awarded Certified Public Accountant (CPA) membership certificate during the CPA Australia-Fiji Branch annual congress at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa on September 19, 2019.
Apart from the new members, Fijian accountants were also recognised for serving the congress for at least 10 years.
CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies with over 164, 000 members in 125 countries, including 120,000 members in the Oceania of which 530 are from Fiji.
Its core services to its members include education, technical training, technical support and advocacy.
Newly certified member Abilash Ram said achieving the full CPA membership was a satisfying experience after years of hard work and sacrifices.
Originally from Savusavu, Ram is chief finance officer with Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL).
“Being a full member of the CPA will help me further grow myself into my current role and continue to add value to my organisation,” Mr Ram said.
“I hope to be a successful chief financial officer in five years, putting all that I will learn to well use,” he said.
He says the CPA programme prepares them to get into executive roles and creates and advanced level of professionalism in their field of work.
“CPA provides us the opportunity to get an internationally recognised qualification in Fiji without having to travel abroad,” he said.
“It also enables us to be equally competent and deliver quality service for our organisations.” CPA new graduates after receiving their certificates on September 19,2019.
