Tanoa Plaza’s Kuchappan is Top for Guests

Tanoa Group of Hotels Our Guests Employee of the Year Joseph Kuchappan always knew the tourism industry would be his first choice of employment.
This is simply because of his hobbies which includes mingling with people.
Mr Kuchappan is currently employed at Tanoa Plaza Hotel, Suva. He grew up in Suva in his family home Vunivalu, in Brown Street and is the eldest four siblings. After finishing high school, he chose the tourism industry and has never looked back.

“A lot of people influenced me in my career but here are few people that I can honestly say I am grateful for and always thankful for their support towards me.” Mr Kuchappan said.
Firstly his parents who had stood beside him through “thick and thin” and is proud of who he was today.
“With words to see me moving forward and never letting me down by what others say. “They have given harsh words to make me strong and I never be thankful enough for who I am today.”
He joined the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in 2013 and was appointed as the Front Desk as a receptionist. Tanoa Plaza Hotel accommodate mostly corporate clients such as government organisations, NGOs, locally owned business, expatriates and universities. “Not only that we also house other areas of travel such as sports groups, medical mission teams, Christian seminars and family visits,” Tanoa Plaza Hotel general manager Mere Rakoroi said. “We have 60 rooms which was definitely another challenge for Joseph.
“He got to see that despite the critics he faces daily in the Suva hotels our service delivery is considered the best and he was proud to admit it as it keeps us floating in this industry,” she said. He previously worked for Quest Apartments until he resigned six years ago, to pursue a new journey with Tanoa Group of Hotels, which he has not regretted and was thankful to the Reddy Family, Mr YP Reddy, Rohit and Kamini Reddy for their continuous support.
Passion for the work
His passionate to love guests and people around him, showcased through the number of years of recognition he had received from 2013 Refer to Services Excellence Recognition for Reddy Group which he had received since 20142018 from Happy Customers who felt appreciated with his services. Not leaving it with only Guests, staff voted him as the Employee of the Quarter in 2014 and 2018 for category Our Guests.
He truly believes in Tanoa Way and is a true example of what Tanoa represents today. Ms Rakoroi said Mr Kuchappan lived a positive life, filled with passion commitment and had a very humbling attitude.
“He loves to Interact with others in a positive, enthusiastic, and cheerful manner,” Ms Rakoroi said.
“Every guests leaving Tanoa Plaza will for sure remember Joseph. “Personally and professionally I have never been more than happier for Joseph, who is independent, kind and such a beautiful soul, who shares with anyone that comes into the hotel whether guests and staff. He is certainly loved by all.”
