It will be a great and proud moment for our local players in the Fijian Prime Minister’s XIII side to take on the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII team at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, tomorrow. Vodafone Fijian Bati head coach Brandon Costin is expected to name his line-up today which would be made up of local-based players. “Preparations have been going on well for us at the Uprising Beach Resort ground despite the wet weather,” Costin said

“The teams are in a good shape and ready for the match this Friday. “It is indeed a great opportunity for these players to play against the very best in the world. “This would be a dream come true for the local players representing the PM’s XIII .

“I think it is also an inspirational time for our local-based players to do their best.

“I am also urging the members of the public to come out in numbers and watch this much- awaited clash.”

Team manager Joe Dakuitoga (Rabele) said it was a blessing to host the world’s number one rugby league team at home.

“This is a dream come true for our local-based players as the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII always go to Papua New Guinea to compete and getting to host them here in Fiji is such a blessing,” Dakuitoga said.

“It is also a great platform for our players to get that game experience.

“And this wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our late chairman Peni Musunamasi. “Rugby is the most loved sports in Fiji so I’m expecting a lot of fans from villages around the country to come out in numbers to watch this game.”
