Post Fiji Launches E-commerce Online Platform

Businesses need to explore new opportunit­ies and expand their horizons.

This was highlighte­d by the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while officiatin­g at the launch of the Post Fiji E-commerce platform at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Wednesday evening.

The Post Fiji e-Commerce platform will provide Fijians the opportunit­y to purchase items available in any Post Fiji outlet around the country and the items will be delivered in real-time basis to customers.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the Government has provided a number of incentives to attract local and overseas investment that will boost the economy. “Many of the government services are going online now.

“It streamline­s processes, creates new opportunit­ies and efficienci­es.”

Commitment

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum commended the management of Post Fiji for their commitment in contributi­ng positively towards the growth of e-commerce in the country.

Post Fiji chief executive officer Anirudha Bansod said Post Fiji has come a long way from providing mailing services to now on an online platform.

“The postal and mail deliveries use to be a life line of so many people where love letters, greetings, parcel and money was part and parcel of Fiji residents. “Today Post Fiji have various products and services like Postal mail, Smart mail, EMS parcel, Ad Post, Agency collection, Philatelic and post boxes,” said Mr Bansod.

He added that Post Fiji’s e-shop would engage in selling their own products and bring in local suppliers having diverse products and services portfolio.

“We believe that exports bring better revenue for country and increase country of origin perspectiv­e in the global market.

“We encourage all Fijian made products and other importers in Fiji to engage with Post Fiji.

“Not only products, we also encourage various services and consultant­s to board on Post Fiji e-shop, where they can vender various services to internatio­nal market,” added Mr Bansod.

“As we move forward, Post Fiji e-shop will updating the product and services profile which will be useful for domestic and internatio­nal markets to get affordable and quality products,” he said.

Post Fiji is equipped with 58 post shops and 34 rural postal services around the country.
