A senior Ministry of Education official in Suva, suspended for alleged sexual harassment, wants justice. He has enlisted the services of a lawyer to fight his case. The new development comes after new details emerged about the alleged incident. It is claimed that the official was suffering from a neck and back pain.

He asked a female employee, who allegedly possesses special gifts as a masseur, to massage his neck and back in the tearoom in full view of other employees. One of the female employees saw what happened and reported the matter to her superiors, who later contacted the Police and lodged a complaint without giving him an opportunity to explain himself. The alleged incident has now stirred a controversy in the backrooms of the ministry. Those who are on his side claim that the complainant did not know the difference between a genuine body massage and sexual harassment. They say she might also have had an ulterior motive. The masseur has laughed it off saying she has massaged other people in the office and removed their pain.

FLAGS DOWN

The Japanese flags flying high from a property in Rewa Street, Suva, on Monday have come down. They represent the feelings of many fans here who cheered for Japan in their quarterfinal loss to South Africa on Sunday night.

WATER PROMISE

Water Authority of Fiji director Kamal Gounder has promised that they will look into the Navua water woes, if they are not resolved yet. His response comes after the intervention from the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, who was copied a complaint by a Navua resident.
