Nine teams for Police IDC
Teams representing nine divisions around the country will be vying for a top finish in the 2019 Kontiki Finance Police Football Inter-District Championship
which started at Nasova yesterday.
The three-day competition features newcomers Totogo Police team.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho thanked Kontiki Finance for their sponsorship for the third year in a row.
“Thank you once again for the sponsorship this year and helping the Fiji Police teams to prepare for the annual Sukuna Bowl competition,” he said.
“We want to thank you sincerely for stepping on board again and sponsoring the team.”
He highlighted that despite the death of one of their police constable, the participants should continue to deliver their best performance.
“Unfortunately, we lost one of our constable last night in one of the incident and it’s a sad day for us,” he said
“And I hope with Kontiki sponsorship the teams will perform to their outmost and bring some happiness into the Police family, “And I hope our warriors will give their best so the best team could be selected to play and win for constable Jiuta and his family and for all us when we finally meet up against our counterparts in the Sukuna Bowl.
