PM Bainimarama meets children, families in Cautata, Buretu
“Be proud to be a Fijian and work hard to achieve what you have set out to do,” Voreqe Bainimarama told children of Ratu Veikoso Primary.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainiamarama said it was the Government’s initiative to continue to provide schools with higher standards as he officially opened another teacher’s quarters.
This time at the Ratu Veikoso Primary School in Buretu, Tailevu.
Mr Bainimarama said having teachers’ quarters provided will allow the teachers to focus in the classroom. “This Government’s biggest achievement is in the field of education. We want the children of Fiji to excel. This is the opportunity this Government is providing,” he said. “We want teachers and students to have a conducive environment within the school which is suitable for learning and teaching.”
Mr Bainimarama told the children of Ratu Veikoso that with the opportunity they had, it was their time to seize it. “Be proud to be a Fijian and work hard to achieve what you have set out to do,” he said.
Mr Bainimarama also urged teachers, parents and members of the community that were present not to fall into the trap of fake news.
He said these types of misinformation were spread by people who were politically disgruntled and had no other avenue but to create discord among the public.
He said the work of the Government was to help its people and to date that is what the Government had been doing. He said the fake news on social media created distrust and fear. He urged the people to trust only reliable sources. The teacher’s quarters is a modern building made possible through a grant from the Office of the Prime Minister.
