Directors offering scholarships
The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in Suva from 21 to 25 October 2019, promoting their International Scholarship Programme and delivering two governance courses to Fiji’s community leaders, directors and aspiring directors.
The International Scholarship Programme offers scholarships to directors, aspiring directors, senior executives and community leaders who due to financial constraints are unable to access governance education.
Two courses are also being run this week, the Fiji Directors Course and Responsibilities and Practice for the Company Secretary.
The Fiji Directors Course is a three-day foundation course for directors and community leaders, designed to provide attendees with an understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a director, including those related to the Fiji Companies Act, 2015.
Responsibilities and Practice for the Company Secretary Course The Responsibilities and Practice for the Company Secretary Course is a one-day course examines the role of the company secretary in facilitate good corporate governance for an organisation and providing counsel to the board.
The Australian Institute of Company Directors is the world’s largest director institute, with over 45,000 members internationally. Fiji is the AICD’s largest membership base outside of Australia.
They will return from 26-28 February 2020 to hold another Fiji Directors Course and again from 1-5 June 2020 to hold an International Company Directors Course in Nadi.
