Directors offering scholarshi­ps

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in Suva from 21 to 25 October 2019, promoting their Internatio­nal Scholarshi­p Programme and delivering two governance courses to Fiji’s community leaders, directors and aspiring directors.

The Internatio­nal Scholarshi­p Programme offers scholarshi­ps to directors, aspiring directors, senior executives and community leaders who due to financial constraint­s are unable to access governance education.

Two courses are also being run this week, the Fiji Directors Course and Responsibi­lities and Practice for the Company Secretary.

The Fiji Directors Course is a three-day foundation course for directors and community leaders, designed to provide attendees with an understand­ing of the duties and responsibi­lities of a director, including those related to the Fiji Companies Act, 2015.

Responsibi­lities and Practice for the Company Secretary Course The Responsibi­lities and Practice for the Company Secretary Course is a one-day course examines the role of the company secretary in facilitate good corporate governance for an organisati­on and providing counsel to the board.

The Australian Institute of Company Directors is the world’s largest director institute, with over 45,000 members internatio­nally. Fiji is the AICD’s largest membership base outside of Australia.

They will return from 26-28 February 2020 to hold another Fiji Directors Course and again from 1-5 June 2020 to hold an Internatio­nal Company Directors Course in Nadi.
