RUGBY Holiday Skills Camp

The Fiji Rugby Union through its Pathway Programme is releasing dates and times for all players named in the Vodafone Age Grade Teams that were selected during the Vodafone Deans Trophy for the upcoming School Holidays.

The players listed from Under 14 to U16 will be engaged twice a week at the three High Performanc­e Unit Centres in Nadi, Sigatoka and Suva.

Players will go through a skill day plus a strength and conditioni­ng day at our Licensed Training Center closest to them.

Elite Player Pathway manager Viliame Gadolo said the objective is to be able to identify players that can be able to move on to the next stage of their developmen­t.

“Players selected in the U17 and U19 grades will be training every day at FRU’s Licensed Training Centres as a build-up to the National Under-18 and Under-20 Programme for 2020.

Holiday training schedule- The camp for the Under-14-16 grade will be held in all three centres in Sigatoka, Nadi and Suva at 10am. The dates are: December 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20 and January 8,10, 2020

Fiji Rugby has announced a 16-member Under-18 School Boys 7s team for the upcoming World Schools 7s to be held in Auckland, New Zealand on December 13-14. All players are requested to report to HPU gym in Suva on November 19 at 10am with appropriat­e training attire and gears.

Taveuni

Fiji Bitter Wariki 7s tournament in Wairiki, Taveuni on November 21-23. 32 teams for the main competitio­n with the registrati­on fee of $500 per team and the winning prizemoney of $8000.

Also 24 teams in the Under-20 competitio­n with registrati­on fee of $200 per team.

For the first time, there will be a women’s 7 competitio­n with the registrati­on fee of $50 per team.

The registrati­on fees of netball and volleyball are $150 per teams. Interested teams are to confirm their participat­ion and pay up the registrati­on fee. For any query contact Jone Katoni on 9221111.

Mokani 7s, Netball

Tournament is scheduled on December 13 - 14 at the Ratu Ravuama Vunivalu Memorial School ground. 32 teams for main 7s with winner getting $3000 - Registrati­on fee $250. 8 teams for Women’s 7s with winner getting $1000 Registrati­on fee $150.

16 teams for netball straight with winning prize of $1000 - Registrati­on fee $150.

8 teams for Mixed Netball with winning prize of $800 - Registrati­on fee $100

Bua

This tournament will be held in Wairiki Village ground, Bua. Separate competitio­n for two days. Competitio­n for Under 19s on December, 20-21.

Under-19 registrati­on fee is $170. First 16 teams to pay will be accommodat­ed. Winner takes home $800 and runners up $400. Cash prizes for semi-finalists.

The only form of ID’s accepted are: Passport, Voters ID, USP. FNU, FSSRU and no other.

The men’s competitio­n scheduled only for Saturday, December 21. First 16 teams to pay $210 will be accepted. Cup winner takes home $1000, Runners-Up $600 and SemiFinali­sts $300 each. Registrati­on closes on Monday, December, 16. For more informatio­n, contact Jone Turaganiqa­li on 9235678.

Tournament on January 10-11, 2020 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori. The total prize-money of $25000 to be shared among winners for the 3 divisions. Cash prizes also for semi-finalists, Plate and Bowl categories.

Kuku Rugby Club will host a First Aid Course at Kuku Village on November 20

The course will be conducted by the St John Ambulance Brigade from 9am to 4pm. Certificat­es will be issued at after the course.

Tailevu Rugby Football Union will hold a presentati­on at the Nausori District School on November 29 from 4.30pm.

NETBALL Sigatoka

Western Fiji Men’s Invitation­al Mixed Championsh­ip on November 23 at St Joan of Arc Primary School ground, Sigatoka.

Under-21 men’s registrati­on fee $50, Open men at $100 with prize money of $400. Mixed men’s registrati­on is $250 with winner taking home $1000. Registrati­on closes on November 20.
